Notarial Services
The legal industry in England and Wales is divided into three main subfields. The first two—solicitors and barristers—are well-known. The Notary Public is the third and oldest.w
The Notary’s responsibility is verifying signatures, documents, and various transactions in order for them to be recognised in nations other than England and Wales. See Notary – general information. They accomplish this by speaking with customers during interviews to confirm their identification, capacity, and understanding of the document or transaction as well as their intention for it to be successful. Other services such as legalisation is also regularly attended to.
In most countries around the world, a document or transaction that has been notarized will be legally binding on the client. The Notary’s responsibility is to ensure that the transaction is valid and enforceable. They must take into account everyone who might be impacted in the future, not just the interests of the individual who comes to see them.
You must provide the Notary with conclusive proof of your identification.
Any document pertaining to the matter will have to satisfy the Notary that you understand it.
All documents pertaining to the subject must be seen by the notary.
The Court of Faculties has the authority to regulate Notaries, who are chosen by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The regulations that apply to notaries are fairly similar to those that apply to solicitors. For the security of their customers and the general public, they must maintain fidelity coverage and be properly insured. They must adhere to the strict practise standards, regulations relating to behaviour, and rules relating to discipline, as well as keep client money separate from their own. Every year, notaries must renew their practising certificates, which they may only do if they comply with the regulations.
